香港藝術節08 (三) - 貝多芬三重奏之夜

今晚三首鋼琴三重奏都是貝多芬的作品:

Piano Trio in C minor, Op 1, No 3 (Issac Stern's 1965 telecast)
Piano Trio in D major, Op 70, No 1, Ghost (du Pre's version here)
Piano Trio in B flat major, Op 97, The Archduke (a 1928 recording version)

encore - Scherzo from Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 49 (withAlisa Weilerstein... what a coincidence)

這是今年最期待的藝術節節目,比對LSO或NYP更甚.可是,我又說不上為甚麼.

對Schiff的認識始於也止於多年前的一張莫札特鋼協唱片,也就知道他是非常出名的鋼琴家,是彈奏巴哈莫札特的專家.可是,鋼琴老師並不太喜歡他演譯莫札特的方式.原因是甚麼,已經忘了.至於另外兩位音樂家,我更是毫無認識.到看了節目簡介之後,才知道小提琴家Shiokawa是Schiff的太太,大提琴家Perenyi是他倆的多年好友.三人經常合奏,算得上是合作無間.室樂或是任何形式的合奏合演,最重要的是默契吧.因此,這場演唱會必定是非常精采的.

事實上也是如此.三人奏出的音樂非常流暢,就算不用太多眼神交流,在音樂裏已經能聽到他們的「溝通」.我不懂得怎麼形容,只能說they were holding the music as if something physical in their hands, very delicately, almost like holding a strand of pearls, and then passing from one to another, back and forth. The notes were indeed like pearls, when they were moving and you can hear the clear sounds of the little pearls hitting each other. And then all of a sudden, I realized it's such clarity and exactness that I know it's Schiff.

所以我覺得太工整了一些.我對貝多芬的認識幾乎是零(不是指他的作品旋律,而是風格、作品背後的故事等等),但我的印象是他雖然屬於classical period,但他帶一點叛逆、一點創新還有很強的爆炸力.Schiff的技巧很高,這是無可否定的,可是他的貝多芬,雖不至於很拘緊,卻讓我覺得很循規蹈矩的,很controlled,幾乎太精雕細琢了.反而,他太太和Perenyi卻有一種passion,而那是Schiff所缺乏的.

對,就是passion.貝多芬的音樂應該是要有passion的.

我想,星期六的recital應該也不會有(太多)吧?
