Elgar Cello Concerto in E minor, Op 85 (Soloist Alisa Weilerstein
woah, lucky u! we never get NYP here! never will...
ReplyDeletei have an album in which du pre plays elgar. i guess that's "the combination"?
we also get LSO this year. a bit too much i think. they should try to spread it out over the years but whatever...
ReplyDeletei think the version i heard was also du Pre, but um... it's not really catching my attention, i guess.
i just got the whole du Pre collection by EMI when i was in taipei. so happy! but haven't opened it yet...
:D just like me! i have bought quite many pieces of CDs but didn't "have time" to open them yet.
ReplyDeletebut good for you!! i saw you got that "the page turner" DVD as well, i quite like that movie. it's kinda twisted but really interesting. kaka.
i got some Brahms CDs over xmas time too, his one of my favourites. a bit too sad though.
time is always a mysterious thing, it's got to be there but we never seem to have enough of it to do anything!
ReplyDeletedvd... is another thing that i don't quite have "time" to open. haha...
is marbecks still around? i miss going to that little shop in the downtown centre in akl...
brahms... haven't really listened to his work properly. but then... i was never really concentrating when i was listening to classical music... they often has sadly become my bgm.
